4th Grade
The 4th grade program combines character development, life skills, academic learning, and outdoor experiences specifically designed for 4th grade youth. The age-appropriate lesson plans focus on the same 8 character traits as the K-3 programs: 1) Respect, 2) Responsibility, 3) Honesty/Trust, 4) Caring/Fairness, 5) Perseverance, 6) Self-Discipline, 7) Courage and 8) Citizenship. Life Skills topics, such as Money Management and Weather, are also lessons within the 4th grade program.
The 61 lessons in the 4th grade focus on many of the same themes as the K-3 programs; however, the lesson activities increase in depth and complexity. Lessons focus on critical thinking, conflict resolution, interpersonal skills, and ethical decision making. Reflection activities in each lesson enable students to analyze their behaviors. Lessons are easily integrated into the core curriculum.
Each lesson includes a “Family/Home Activity” to reinforce learning at home.
